Overview

HGV Technician

We are searching for Motivated, Reliable and Hard-Working HGV Technicians of all levels of competency who will be based from our client's depot in Burtonwood.

Shift patterns and pay
  • Day/Evening shifts: 06:00 - 14:30 (Week 1: Monday to Friday)
  • Day/Evening shifts: 14:00 - 22:30 (Week 2: Monday to Friday)
  • Saturday mornings: 08:00 - 12:00 (two Saturdays on, one off, then rotate)
  • Overtime: approx. 5-10 hours per week
  • Base pay: c£18.95 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Overtime pay: c£28.42 per hour
  • Night shift: 22:30 - 07:00 (Mon-Fri)
  • Or Week 1: 20:00 - 06:30 (Mon-Thu) and Week 2: 20:00 - 06:30 (Tue-Fri)
  • Overtime: approx. 5 hours per week
  • Base pay: c£23.16 per hour (dependent on experience)
About the client

Our client is a franchised Scania dealership with five depots throughout the North West of England. Operations are 24 hours, Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. Facilities include leading-edge vehicle technology and diagnostic equipment, and a broad range of trucks, coaches, buses and trailer units. They offer a structured personal training and development program tailored to each individual.

Role responsibilities
  • Carry out diagnostics, inspections, service routines, repairs and testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner.
  • Report findings and complete repairs to current manufacturer standards.
  • Report to the shift supervisor.
  • Investigate and diagnose faults.
  • Observe Health and Safety rules.
  • Liaise effectively with the parts department.
