Job summary

A leading environmental services provider is seeking drivers to operate specialist vehicles for hazardous waste management. The role involves handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and utilizing onboard technology. Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 Licence.
  • Possess up-to-date CPC / DIGI Tachograph card.
  • Have a valid ADR Licence for handling tanks and packages.

Responsibilities

  • Operate High Air Flow Machine and Vacuum Tanker Vehicles.
  • Load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Perform cleaning under confined space regulations and high-pressure water jetting.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Operating High Air Flow Machine / Specialist Vacuum Tanker Vehicles
  • Loading and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from customer sites and disposal sites
  • Additional duties: storage tank / vessel cleaning under confined space regulations, high pressure water jetting and repackaging of hazardous materials
  • Dealing with plant shutdowns, trauma and crime scene cleaning, chemical emergency response, confined space and working at height rescue services
  • Complete daily checks of the vehicle and use onboard technology to complete work notes
  • Comply with all traffic laws and legislation and ensure your work environment is safe and clean at all times
Qualifications
  • HGV Class 1 Licence
  • Up-to-date CPC / DIGI Tachograph card
  • Valid ADR Licence (Tanks & Packages)
  • Medical clearance suitable for active wearing and use of breathing apparatus due to nature of the role

Salary & Benefits

Salary: £15.84 per hour (current role holders are earning over £50,000 per annum with extras included). Additional hours worked during the week or Saturdays will be paid at time and a half. Sundays and Bank Holidays are paid at double time. Hourly uplift when working away from home, including paid accommodation and meal allowance.

Working Hours & Location

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:30. Weekends as required plus a shared out-of-hours emergency call-out rota system. Working away from home for extensive periods on a national basis.

Location: Brownhills WS8 7DG.
