Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Risley, a category C prison located in the Risley area of Warrington. HMP Risley has an operational capacity of around 1100 inmates and is a 20 minute drive from Warrington, and 30 minutes from Wigan.

Hours: This is a full-time role, averaging 37.5 hours per week, with shifts between 20:30 and 07:30. Flexible patterns available: 7 nights on, 7 nights off, or 7 nights over 2 weeks (example: 4 on, 3 off, 3 on, 4 off).

Salary: £24,669 – £28,690 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As our Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Ensure continuity of care for all patients and deliver outstanding care at all times
  • Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods, etc.
  • Respond to emergency situations as needed
  • WorkHolistically with patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy, etc.
  • Deliver personalised, non-judgemental care based on patient feedback
  • Contribute to and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics

  • Hold an NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent
