Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is: Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Join the Team in General outpatients Stobhill ACH North Glasgow, working within the nursing and multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care to this patient group.
  • Support the Outpatient Service within a dynamic, diverse environment and contribute to the ongoing development of the service.
  • Contribute to effective management of resources including supplies and equipment.
  • Share responsibility for housekeeping, stock control and participate in Health & safety audits within the department.
  • Maintain effective written and verbal communication, work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and record and report patient observations.
  • Perform a range of tests (e.g., urinalysis, blood pressure, bladder scanning, blood glucose monitoring, and wound observation) and monitor changes in patient health (physical/psychological).
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years in a healthcare setting is required for this Band 3 post, as well as an SVQ 2 in Healthcare or working towards it.
  • IT skills are essential, including inputting patient information into electronic records.
Requirements
  • Flexibility to support the service and, if necessary, engaging in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to ensure service provision.
  • PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check is required.
