Overview

We are looking to recruit experienced Health Care Assistants at Frimley NHS Health Foundation Trust (FHFT) who are currently working in the UK in a healthcare setting. We have a range of Health Care Assistant (HCA) vacancies across our clinical directorates on our Frimley Park Hospital site. This is a front facing clinical role where a high level of spoken and written English language is required. Please do not use AI software for completion of your application for this role. You currently must be in the UK and have current experience of working in a UK healthcare setting as an HCA. Responsibilities
  • As a Health Care Assistant, you will work under direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse/Nursing Associate. You will primarily assist the nursing team with care of the patients and facilitate the smooth running of the department.
  • Support clinically registrant colleagues and act in the best interest of patients, ensuring respect and dignity and valuing diverse beliefs while delivering clinical care.
  • Provide excellent customer care to patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
  • Undertake agreed clinical activities including collection of urine and faecal samples, swabs, recording of fluid intake/output, changing of stomas and urine drainage bags, catheter care, recording of pulse/temperature/blood pressure/saturations and NEWS2 scoring, and alert the registrant nurse to any changes in a patient’s condition.
  • Care for enhanced care observation patients (1:1) or bay-based observation as required.
  • Assist in the implementation of plans of care for individual patients.
  • Assist patients to eat and drink as required, support menu selection and be aware of special diets and cultural requirements.
  • Enable and assist patients to maintain their personal hygiene.
  • Contribute to the safe movement of patients using equipment to mobilise and move patients after mobility assessment to ensure patient comfort.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Current experience of working in a UK healthcare setting as an HCA.
  • High level of spoken and written English language.
  • Front facing clinical role with strong customer care skills.
  • Willingness to participate in training and development opportunities.
  • Interest in providing exceptional patient care and developing clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team.
