Bexley Health Neighbourhood Care (CIC) has a full‑time vacancy for a Health Care Assistant with flexible hours including weekends to work at the Urgent Care Centre at Queen Marys Hospital and Erith Hospital. Experience working in the NHS and urgent treatment centres would be desirable. The role requires working as part of the Urgent Treatment Centre team to provide support to patients and the team, undertaking delegated tasks and working without supervision where appropriate, reporting back to the responsible clinician.
Support the assessment of client needs and respond accordingly with the use of protocols and pathways where appropriate. Observe confidentiality and maintain a professional image at all times. Ensure clinical environments for self and others are prepared & maintained according to Health and Safety and Infection Control policies in addition to local protocols. Maintain accurate data input for patients. Attend appropriate training sessions, including in‑service training to develop, improve and maintain clinical skills and knowledge. Mentor other colleagues as appropriate to the role. Support triage to patients presenting to the Urgent Treatment Centre with undifferentiated conditions using electronic protocols & templates. Provide first contact immobilisation of fractures within protocol & mobilisation advice and care. Provide wound care services within a health care setting.
Provide a reception service to patients, families and carers, answering enquiries in a helpful or welcoming manner as required.
