The Role

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting the delivery of health and safety policies and procedures across our sites
  • Assisting with risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Helping to promote a culture of safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement
  • Maintaining records and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Working closely with all teams across the Council to provide friendly, practical advice on staying safe
  • Supporting our operational safety, community safety and resilience colleagues in their functions
  • Learning on the job and working towards completing your Safety, Health and Environment Technician Apprenticeship standard level 3
What We’re Looking For
  • A keen eye for detail and a genuine interest in health and safety
  • Great communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, can‑do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Some experience or qualifications in health and safety (e.g., IOSH) would be great, but we are thrilled to support the right person to train and grow in the role
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications
