Overview

The Governors of St Peter’s CE Primary School and Nursery are seeking to appoint a dedicated, inspirational, and visionary Headteacher to lead our thriving rural Church school into its next exciting chapter.

Rooted in our Christian vision — “Let your light shine” (Matthew 5:16) — we are a caring and ambitious school community where every child is known, nurtured, and challenged to achieve their very best. With strong links to St Peter’s Church, supportive families, and a committed staff team, we are proud of our Outstanding Ofsted rating and our flourishing pupils across Nursery, EYFS, KS1, and KS2.

We are looking for a Headteacher who will:

  • Lead with integrity, warmth, and vision, upholding our Christian distinctiveness while welcoming all faiths and none.
  • Sustain high standards of teaching, learning, and curriculum, ensuring every child flourishes academically, socially, and spiritually.
  • Be a visible and approachable leader, building strong relationships with pupils, staff, families, governors, and the wider parish community.
  • Demonstrate strategic leadership in a rural context, securing the best outcomes for our children.
  • Prioritise safeguarding and wellbeing at the heart of school life.
