Overview

Head of Quality and Operations role in an industrial manufacturing company focused on leading quality, procurement, and operational functions to drive continuous improvement and support strategic growth and sustainability ambitions.

The Role

The Head of Quality and Operations will be responsible for monitoring and continually improving product, manufacturing, and operational performance. Key responsibilities include leading procurement strategies aligned with business goals, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental legislation, and driving efficiencies to support strategic growth. The role also includes overseeing quality assurance, supplier management, complaint resolution, and risk mitigation activities to maintain operational excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant quality, manufacturing, or engineering discipline, with proven experience implementing ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards. They will hold Six Sigma or equivalent qualifications and be a certified internal auditor. Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to driving continuous improvement are essential.

A valid UK driving licence is required due to travel within the region. Knowledge of greenhouse gas reporting and a lead auditor certification is desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while fostering a positive, accountable team culture.
