Join Our Team

As our Head of Pricing Data & Analytics, you will focus on the development and execution of the pricing data & analytics strategy. The immediate focus will be to build out an insight-driven data strategy for pricing in close collaboration with the pricing leadership, IT and underwriting. Key to this is ensuring the pricing data strategy is business led whilst closely aligning to the wider IT data strategy and balancing the need for global consistency with line of business specific requirements. Once the data foundations are in place, the focus will expand to building out wider analytic insights to support pricing, underwriting and senior management. This covers descriptive and predictive analytics based on both internal and external data.

This role will suit someone who enjoys setting the strategy direction but also relishes delivering hands-on data and analytical work. This is a greenfield opportunity for the right candidate to build out pricing data & analytical capabilities as a key component of SiriusPoint’s journey to being a best-in-class insurer and reinsurer. You will report to the Chief Pricing Actuary.

Responsibilities
  • Build out a data strategy for pricing: documenting the current state, the business need and the future vision. Work with IT and the business to build out a roadmap for delivery.
  • Develop the SiriusPoint pricing data model and build out robust, scalable pipelines for pricing data.
  • In close collaboration with pricing teams, underwriters and senior leadership, build proto-type MI and reporting: either directly or via providing support to relevant pricing teams. Work with IT to productionise.
  • Business owner of the pricing datamart as part of the Enterprise Data Hub project.
  • Develop strong relationships into IT and the Transformation Office. Represent the pricing function at the Enterprise Data Committee and other key transformation groups.
  • Develop and obtain buy-in for a pricing analytics strategy for SiriusPoint, identifying early quick wins alongside longer term goals.
  • Develop insights using a variety of analytical tools, techniques, and technologies, and deliver results which drive business decisions.
  • Discover, explore and analyse internal and external datasets for the purpose of developing descriptive and predictive analytics for business insight.
  • Provide thought leadership on new areas to support the pricing and steering of the business via analytical solutions
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience working in data and analytical roles within the insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of the global corporate and specialty (re)insurance sector essential. Understanding of reinsurance and delegated business particularly desirable. Either previous pricing actuarial experience or previous experience working closely with pricing actuaries and underwriters.
  • Degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or similar quantitative fields or equivalent experience in data & analytics.
  • Previous experience of building or contributing to the pricing data & analytics strategy of the company.
  • Data manipulation and analytical skills in languages such as Python and SQL. Knowledge of modern visualization tools such as PowerBI.
  • Software engineering mindset ensuring analytics, insight and reporting can be easily maintained and where appropriate productionised by IT.
  • Previous experience of building out and maintaining pragmatic data models balancing global consistency with business specific requirements.
  • Ability to identify and build appropriate analytical analysis to match the business problem.
  • Proven track record of working closely with pricing & underwriting teams to provide clear and easily digestible visualisation and actionable recommendations from analysis.
  • Experience delivering insight from small, messy and/or non-standard data sets.
  • Curious and proactive: embrace opportunities from new technologies and approaches such as GenAI and wider analytics.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills – ability to operate in an international environment essential.
