Overview

I'm currently working with a leading UK university on the search for a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis on a 6-month contract. This senior role is based in the south of England with hybrid working available.

Responsibilities

You will lead on the financial aspects of the University's planning process, developing the Resource Allocation Model and providing high-quality financial insight to support senior managers and decision-makers. You will also deputise for the Deputy Director of Finance (Management Accounting & Business Partnering) when required.

Experience Required
  • Proven track record at senior level as an accountant in a large, complex organisation, with excellent technical accounting knowledge.
  • Strong experience in financial planning, forecasting and resource allocation, ideally with knowledge of TRAC and workload planning.
  • Advanced Excel and complex financial modelling skills.
  • Experience leading system implementations, process redesign and reporting improvements with demonstrable benefits.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial issues clearly to senior leaders and non-finance colleagues.
  • Significant experience delivering financial forecasts and insight in a complex environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
