This is not a maintenance role.

It is a mandate to professionalise, stabilise, and future‑prove a global IT and cybersecurity function at a point where the organisation has recognised that “good enough” is no longer good enough.

The business is profitable, long‑term contracted, and operationally critical. What it now requires is an executive‑level technology and security leader who can take ownership of the function, bring clarity where growth has been organic, and ensure that IT and cybersecurity are operating at the standard the organisation's mission demands.

The Mandate.

You will take full executive accountability for global IT and cybersecurity across operations, infrastructure, programmes, governance, and assurance. The environment is highly regulated, safety‑critical, and unforgiving of error – which is precisely why this role exists.

In The First 12–24 Months, Success Looks Like
  • A clear, board‑aligned IT & Security strategy with a defined roadmap
  • A function that knows what good looks like, how it is measured, and how it is delivered
  • A leadership structure, operating model, and governance framework that supports scale, resilience, and compliance
  • Confidence at board level that risk is understood, managed, and communicated clearly
  • Global sites operating as one joined‑up digital and security ecosystem, not a collection of silos

You will have the backing of the board and the autonomy to act – with the expectation that you take ownership and make things happen, not wait for permission.

It will suit someone who wants to own a critical function, shape its future, and be trusted to do so.

Why This Role Is Compelling.
  • True executive remit: direct access to the board and responsibility for decisions that matter
  • Stability with substance: long‑term contracts, strong profitability, and sustained investment
  • Meaningful work: technology and security that underpin products and systems where quality, safety, and reliability are non‑negotiable
  • Influence, not firefighting: the opportunity to move a capable but under‑shaped function to world‑class maturity
  • Legacy impact: this is a role where what you build will outlast you
What You’ll Bring.

You are a senior IT and cybersecurity leader who has operated recently in a highly regulated, compliance‑driven environment. You bring breadth, judgement, and emotional intelligence – not just technical depth.

You Are Likely To Bring
  • A broad, senior background across IT operations, infrastructure, programmes, and security
  • Proven leadership in complex, regulated environments (e.g., defence, aerospace, pharma, nuclear, financial services, or similarly controlled sectors)
  • Executive‑level understanding of cybersecurity, risk, governance, and compliance
  • The credibility to engage confidently at board and regulator level
  • A pragmatic, inquisitive style – able to understand why things are the way they are before deciding what needs to change

Critically, you bring character fit: discretion, sound judgement, composure under pressure, and a strong sense of ownership.

Leadership Style.

This organisation values people performing at their best in an environment that does not create unnecessary pressure. Collaboration, trust, and professionalism matter.

You will be expected to lead firmly but thoughtfully – raising standards without destabilising delivery.

This is not a “rip‑it‑up” transformation. It is a deliberate, structured elevation of capability.
