A leading infrastructure solutions company in Greater Manchester seeks a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The role involves supporting mechanical and HVAC engineering tasks within diverse projects across energy, water, and nuclear sectors. This position is part of a comprehensive Graduate Development Programme designed to facilitate career growth and mentoring opportunities. The Mechanical Engineering Department delivers mechanical & HVAC engineering scope for consultancy / operational delivery / design projects within multi-discipline engineering teams based in Costain's Manchester office, primarily in the Natural Resources Division of Costain Group, in Water, Energy and Nuclear Sectors.

To deliver the Engineering & Design Function within a specialist Mechanical Engineering Group, working primarily in the Natural Resources Division of Costain Group, in Water, Energy and Nuclear Sectors.
The job holder reports to the Chief Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineering Discipline Lead.
It is expected that the job holder will generally be assigned to projects and therefore day to day reporting will be to project Lead Mechanical Engineer.

This role is based in our Manchester Office - but you may be required to visit different sites, so a full UK driving licence is essential.
The programme will focus on helping you to grow your personal and leadership skills, alongside business and of course, the technical skills you will learn day-to-day on the job and through external training as needed.
The programme is delivered in a variety of formats throughout the 2 years and will allow you to establish a network of contacts that will help and support you through your first 2 years and beyond. We expect some of our graduates to rotate after a period of 8-12 months, to another project/sector of the business to fully understand the depth and breadth of the services offered by the company.
Our line managers are fully supportive of the Graduate Development Programme and will be involved in helping you along the way.
In addition to the programme, we offer mentoring and support in every area of work, as well as a structured training programme to enable graduates to work towards achieving Chartership.
Graduates may have the opportunity to work on a number of exciting and progressive projects around the UK during the 2-year period, in sectors including energy, nuclear, highways, rail, water, airports and tunnels.
Note: In the above descriptions the term “design” is used in its broadest sense and covers design calculations, specifications, equipment selection and bid evaluation, requisitioning of equipment, approval of supplier's documentation and provision of contract documentation.
