Job Role: Junior Category Buyer

From a modern facility in Solihull, you’ll work with a passionate and expanding team committed to excellence in engineering, quality, and supply chain collaboration. My client is looking for a motivated and proactive Junior Category Buyer to support the purchasing function and help drive a resilient and reliable supply chain. The right candidate will be organised, adaptable, and confident building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Responsibilities
  • Build and manage supplier relationships with a professional and consistent approach.
  • Communicate supply issues affecting category spend with relevant departments and escalate where required.
  • Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules.
  • Create and maintain material master data and supplier drawing workflows.
  • Handle general procurement administration and departmental housekeeping.
  • Manage CAPEX for company assets.
  • Act as a key point of contact for resolving pricing, quality, delivery, and invoice issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery).
  • Maintain and create management information systems (MIS).
