We are recruiting for a Governance Manager. This role plays a central role in supporting Compare the Market’s First Line of Defence. You will be responsible for managing customer risk across the Marketing and Customer teams, ensuring the regulatory and compliance environment is effectively managed with a commercial mindset. The role works in close collaboration with the CtM Second Line of Defence, Risk & Compliance teams and other business-wide colleagues.

This is a hands-on, visible role designed to embed effective best-in-class risk management practices and promote a proactive risk-aware culture.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the preparation and execution of effective governance across the Marketing and Customer teams to ensure our governance obligations are fulfilled alongside focusing on good customer outcomes.
• Take ownership of risk management in the Marketing and Customer teams through developing strong relationships with internal Risk, Legal and Compliance teams to drive excellent collaboration and execution of the Risk Management Framework.
• Oversight of Risks, Controls and KRIs in line with the business’ risk appetite.
• Structure and lead appropriate governance forums to monitor and track risks and mitigation with an eye on the wider business to ensure read across and escalation where appropriate.
• Provide support, guidance and approval to the teams for financial and non-financial promotions in line with regulatory guidelines.
• Support the Senior Leadership Team in Brand and Customer in cross-functional risk management scenario planning and mitigation.
• Support and challenge the business on regulatory and high-priority strategic projects.
• Own and deliver the first-line annual control validation and monitoring plan, working closely with the second line of defence.
• Encourage a culture of winning and growth for customer, partner and CtM.

What we’re looking for

• Awareness of FCA guidelines and ASA rules relating to customer communications and financial promotions including CAP and BCAP Codes (ASA).
• Other in-scope regulatory knowledge would be beneficial but not essential e.g. Ofgem, Ofcom.
• Good understanding of risk frameworks and their execution within a regulated business.
• Good awareness of CtM’s core and non-core product offerings.
