Job summary

A prominent staffing agency in Glasgow seeks a Corporate Tax Advisor with significant Corporate Tax experience. The role involves developing and implementing transfer pricing policies, ensuring compliance with fiscal requirements, and preparing responses to challenges from fiscal authorities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-6 years in corporate tax, preferably with international experience and a CA or CPA designation. Qualifications

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Planning: development and implementation of commercially and fiscally viable annual transfer pricing policies and execution of effective and sustainable tax-planning strategies. As we are acquisitive and dynamic, analyze and anticipate complex tax situations and develop solutions and new approaches. This role would also assess the intercompany loans and resolutions for settlements.
  • Compliance and Documentation: compliance with local fiscal requirements and OECD, design of transfer pricing policies and procedures, technical analysis and preparation of high quality documentation that meets the appropriate standards within the jurisdiction that we operate in.
  • Audit Resolution: preparation of appropriate responses to fiscal authority challenges, determination of the reaction strategy, performance of robust economic analyses to support existing policies and negotiation with fiscal authorities.
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution: Assessment of the risks of fiscal authority challenges and identification of appropriate strategies in order to help manage and control tax risks. Assistance in the preparation of Advance Pricing Arrangements (APAs) as well as negotiation with relevant fiscal authorities.
  • Leadership: Working closely with other operational leaders as well as existing tax team, diverse assignments for multi-jurisdictional issues, in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge Champion: Maintaining a high level of technical knowledge and participating in regular technical sessions to ensure compliance with evolving taxation legislation and assess the impact of any proposed legislation. Successful candidate will also have a very good knowledge of operations and what activities are performed in each of our entities.
Qualifications

Requirements/Preferences

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive general Corporate Tax experience with priority given to experience in foreign jurisdiction compliance.
  • Professional written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a changing environment.
  • International experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
  • Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth.
  • Willing to take on full ownership of projects and relationships.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) designation or Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) is preferred however consideration will be given to other accounting designations (CGA/CMA).
  • Completion of various CICA In-Depth Tax and Transfer Pricing programs would be an asset.
  • Experience with taxation of intellectual property.
  • Experience within the software industry and potentially US GAAP knowledge would be a definite asset.
  • Working knowledge of SAP would be an asset.
