A well-established training practice in Wrexham is seeking one or two General Practitioners to join their team. The post offers flexibility in sessions and the possibility of a partnership for the right candidates. Responsibilities include conducting consultations, prescribing medication, and making autonomous decisions regarding patient care. Ideal candidates will be registered with the GMC and have completed GP training. This role supports continuing education and is part of a collaborative practice environment.
Due to ill-health retirement of a previous partner,we are seeking one or two GPs to join our team at Bryn Darland Surgery, whichis a well-established and highly regarded training Practice in Northeast Wales. The sessions available mean that we areseeking either one or two GPs depending on how many sessions applicants wish tocommit to. Our priority is to have the right person or people join ourclose-knit team and we would hope to be flexible for the right candidate/s. Thepost is a salaried GP post with a view to partnership for the rightcandidate/s.
Standard General Practice, may include some clinical supervision of Doctors in training but will not include educational supervision.
We strive to be a practice with a traditional feel but also with a willingness to look at new solutions and respond to the changing health care environment that we work within.
With a list size of around 6000 patients and a branch site open three days per week, we serve rural village communities but are only 10 minutes by car from our local district general hospital in Wrexham. The area has good road links and is conveniently situated 3.5 miles from Wrexham and just 8 miles from Chester.
The Practice is high achieving with Access Standards, QIF and Medicines Management and offers a wide range of Supplementary Services. The practice is also actively involved in Cluster collaborative working.
We currently have 4 GPs working a mix of sessions. The wider Practice team includes 3 Practice nurses, 2 Healthcare Assistants and a supportive administrative team. We benefit from a Cluster Home Visiting Urgent Care Practitioner, Cluster Occupational Therapist, Cluster Mental Health and CAMHS In-reach Service, Cluster Audiologist and Ear Wax removal service.We have excellent support from our local district nursing team.
We work under a part triage model, use EMIS Web and have access to AccuRx, GPTR & WCCG.
The Practice is active in all levels of medical training, accepting students from Cardiff and Swansea Medical Schools, doctors on F1 Lift placements and GP Registrars. We are a member of the Further Training Practice network.
Clinical Responsibilities include but not limited to:
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, thepost-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of dutiesincluding surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visitingpatients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing withqueries, administration and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation topresenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other health careworkers within the organisation Undertake on-call duty on a rota basis withother GPs.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes toagreed standards
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribingformulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertakeall the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working withinprimary care
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
