Job description
Overview

Responsibilities will vary depending on the location and role, as each site has unique projects, production processes, and priorities. You could be involved in investigating quality issues, auditing products and suppliers, reviewing materials, analysing data or driving process improvements. We have different types of roles in this area; here is a brief snapshot into each:

Responsibilities
  • Supplier Quality (Cheltenham): identify improvement opportunities for the team to improve efficiency and productivity through already identified improvement projects and to help identify new opportunities for improvement. With support from the wider team, take on responsibility for the management of a small portfolio of suppliers from a supplier quality perspective to gain experience in supplier management in a business environment.
  • Product Quality Placement (Caledonian Quality Placement, Prestwick, Scotland): support the production areas of our engine overhaul facility. The placement will involve supporting root cause investigations, auditing processes, implementing corrective/preventative actions, analysing key data, or assisting with the rollout of a new process.
  • Supplier Quality (Dowty): lead the team\'s daily management development. Provide support in resolving product quality issues arising from in-house production or supply chain using RCCA tools and techniques. Manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and maintain system database. Issue quarterly updates to the supply chain and other related duties.
About the program

This placement is an intended pipeline to our Operations Management Leadership Programme (OMLP), which is based across many UK sites. Towards the end of the placement year, graduate applications are opened with a view to securing a role prior to the end of the placement year. A placement at GE Aerospace is an opportunity to learn while doing, working with business leaders in an environment that develops you while contributing immediate impact.

Location & Sites

This opportunity is offered at Caledonian (Prestwick, Scotland), Cheltenham, and Gloucester (Dowty, a GE Aerospace company) sites. GE Aerospace Caledonian is a purpose-built aircraft engine overhaul facility adjacent to Glasgow Prestwick International Airport. The Caledonian site focuses on MRO for CF6 & GEnx engines, with engines undergoing performance testing on site before returning to customers. Dowty, based in Gloucestershire, is a leading supplier of electronically controlled, composite propeller systems for a wide range of civil and military applications.
