Forest School Leader

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and qualified Forest School Leader to join a vibrant and popular two‑form entry primary school in the heart of Tower Hamlets.


The successful candidate will lead engaging, child‑centred outdoor learning sessions that inspire curiosity, confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of nature.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about outdoor education to make a meaningful impact on pupils' wellbeing and development.


This one day a week role is a ASAP and will continue until July 202. Pay rates will vary depending on qualifications and experience: £100-120 (PAYE).

Responsibilities


  • Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality Forest School sessions for pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

  • Create a safe, nurturing outdoor learning environment that encourages independence, teamwork, creativity and problem‑solving.

  • Assess pupils' progress and adapt activities to meet individual needs and abilities.

  • Promote children's social, emotional and physical development through nature‑based learning.

  • Maintain tools, equipment and outdoor resources to a high standard.

  • Carry out dynamic and site‑specific risk assessments, ensuring all activities follow current Forest School and safeguarding guidelines.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff and senior leaders to integrate Forest School learning with the wider curriculum.

  • Engage with parents, carers and the wider school community to celebrate pupils' achievements.

  • Model excellent behaviour management strategies in an outdoor context.

  • Available to work 8 am – 16:30.

Who should Apply


  • Someone who holds a Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification or a Level 3 Teaching and Learning Certificate.

  • Has experience delivering Forest School or outdoor learning in an educational setting.

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice.

  • Is confident managing groups of children outdoors in all seasons.

  • Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Is passionate about sustainability, the natural world and experiential learning.
