Job description
Overview

Food Technology Teacher – Southampton (Totton Area). Start Date: October 2025. Contract: Maternity Cover until July 2026. Pay: £165 - £245 per day (dependent on experience). Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm | Full-Time. Location: Near Totton, Southampton.


Role and responsibilities


  • Plan and deliver creative and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Encourage students to develop essential cooking skills, healthy eating knowledge, and a passion for food.

  • Track and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.

  • Contribute to departmental development and curriculum planning.

  • Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour, and achievement.

Qualifications and experience


  • A degree in Food Technology, Design & Technology, or a related subject (essential).

  • QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification (preferred).
