Job description
FLT Driver - Hull

We are currently looking for an experienced FLT Driver to join Cargill Bioindustrial in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and reputable company known for its commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability.

Contract: Temporary (3 months initially)

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Role

To provide comprehensive forklift and site support services across the Cargill Bioindustrial facility in Hull, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely handling of materials, waste, and deliveries. This role plays an important part in maintaining operational flow and supporting various departments including Stores, Maintenance, Production, and Labs.

Key Responsibilities
FLT Operations & Checks
  • Perform daily FLT safety checks and ensure compliance with site safety standards.
  • Carry out general FLT duties as required across the site.
Waste Management
Manage 1100L bins
  • Cardboard & plastic out Monday for Tuesday collection.
  • General waste out Tuesday for Wednesday collection.
  • General waste 1100L out Wednesday for Thursday collection.
  • Cardboard & plastic fall bins out Wednesday for Thursday collection.
  • Tip waste skips daily (including small yellow and large press skips).
  • Remove zinc bags (North side) daily.
  • Collect and load waste pallets for resale (approx. every couple of months).
  • Remove Palladium waste from the Hydrogen area (liaise with Beth, complete waste sheet, and submit to TL weekly or as required).
  • Support waste RM handling (approx. every couple of months).
Material Handling & Deliveries
  • Offload goods for Raw Materials (RM) - ad hoc, any day / time.
  • Support Stores and Maintenance teams with offloading deliveries.
  • Support Production with RM deliveries to plants (can be daily).
  • Move steam out pots (potentially daily).
  • Deliver nitrogen crates and single nitrogen bottles from Labs to the trailer park.
Pallet Management
  • Manage pallet collections daily at 1 PM (unless paused).
  • Collect and remove pallets daily.
Site Maintenance Support
  • Top up demineralised water once or twice a week (Labs will notify).
  • Check and top up diesel weekly (Fitters will advise if needed).
  • Keep Frac 1 & 2 base areas tidy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the RM warehouse.
Other Duties
  • Handle Kenolube-related tasks as required.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Team Leader or Site Manager.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Valid FLT licence (Counterbalance and / or Reach preferred).
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a warehouse or industrial environment.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
