FIRE SERVICE MANAGER – CAR ALLOWANCE

Title: Fire Service Manager
Location: Office-based in Essex with National Coverage (primarily London area)
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
OTE: Competitive, including car allowance and benefits package

The Fire Service Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient, compliant, and high-performing delivery of fire alarm maintenance, remedial works, and team management in accordance with BS 5839-1: 2025.

Responsibilities – Fire Service Manager
  • Oversee fire alarm maintenance, inspections, and remedial works to BS 5839-1: 2025 standards.
  • Manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure timely delivery and high completion rates.
  • Prioritise and manage reactive works, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
  • Provide leadership to 18 engineers, service desk teams, and supervisors.
  • Conduct team meetings, one-to-ones, and performance reviews.
  • Manage service backlogs and ensure safety-critical tasks are addressed promptly.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and service quality.
  • Act as the escalation point for customer issues and ensure effective resolution.
  • Collaborate with project and compliance teams to ensure cohesive service delivery.
  • Monitor KPIs, analyse data, and produce performance reports.
Requirements – Fire Service Manager
  • Minimum of 2 years managerial experience.
  • Proven experience in fire alarm service management or a similar leadership role within the life safety or building services sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems.
  • In-depth understanding of BS 5839-1: 2025.
