Our client, which is a prestigious local government body, requires a Fire Risk Assessor in Oxfordshire to join their expanding team managing Fire Risk work across a mix of domestic and commercial properties. This position is an excellent opportunity that offers continual training and development on courses and qualifications, with genuine opportunities for career progression.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Identify potential fire hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate effectively with the team to ensure accurate and timely completion of assessments.
  • Record observations and, if appropriate, suggest a remediation.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, findings, and recommendations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to fire safety.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in conducting fire risk assessments.
  • A recognised qualification in fire safety management and fire risk assessments (from bodies such as the Fire Protection Association, Fire Industry Association, Institute of Fire Engineers, or NEBOSH) would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of fire safety regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Building Safety Act.
  • Preferably level 3 or above in Fire Safety.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Certification or qualification in fire risk assessment or fire safety management.
  • Experience working with diverse types of sites, including commercial and residential.
