Job description

A well-established Group of businesses are looking to recruit a new Financial Controller for one of their sizeable divisions. This is an autonomous role sitting as divisional number 1 in finance at their Preston site, with support and guidance as required from their parent company at Group level.

The role offers a good balance of hands on routine and technical accounting duties coupled with strategic involvement to drive further growth within the business.

This is a full time, office based role and flexibility on working hours is available. Opportunities for career development will be available in line with exciting future plans within the business.

Leading a small team of finance staff, as Financial Controller you will take ownership for all financial activity for the division. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Production of the management accounts pack
  • Preparation of statutory accounts, leading the audit process
  • Oversight of purchase ledger and sales ledger
  • Oversight of payroll
  • Business partnering across various departments, providing meaningful financial insight, challenging when necessary
  • Provision of strategic support to aid effective decision making, contributing to growth plans
Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), although candidates who are qualified by experience will be considered. Technically strong, you will also demonstrate good commercial acumen with the ability to work cross-functionally to support business plans. Additionally, proven ability to review and enhance existing systems and processes, implementing improvements where appropriate is advantageous.
