Job description
Overview

I’m working with a UK based business who are looking to add a Finance Assistant into their growing commercial finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their finance career – either a recent graduate with strong placement experience or someone who’s had a year or two of hands-on finance exposure post-university.

You’ll play a key role in helping the business make better decisions by supporting operational teams with meaningful, accurate financial insight. If you enjoy working with people, want to grow in a top UK business, and are working toward your qualifications – this could be a great move.

The Role

You’ll get exposure to a wide range of commercial and operational stakeholders and develop core skills in budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and management reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the month-end process and management accounts preparation
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and performance tracking
  • Building relationships across the business to explain financials in a clear, practical way
  • Providing variance analysis and identifying risks/opportunities
  • Working with large datasets to support decision-making
  • Supporting ongoing projects, reporting improvements, and financial modelling
Who I’m Looking For

Someone curious, relationship-driven, and commercially minded. You\'ll need a good grounding in finance but also the confidence to work with non-finance colleagues and communicate clearly.

You’ll need
  • A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar (ideally with exam exemptions towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a finance-related role (e.g. FP&A, assistant management accountant, finance analyst)
  • Strong Excel skills and an analytical mindset
  • A genuine interest in working with the business and helping shape decisions
  • Excellent communication skills
Bonus if you have
  • Started a professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
What’s on Offer
  • Full study support
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Hybrid working
  • Clear progression path and exposure to senior stakeholders

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in – or if you’re an early-career finance professional looking for a commercially focused role with long-term growth – I’d love to hear from you.
