We are recruiting for a Financial Accountant - Treasury Management, Payables & Receivables to join our Finance team. The role supports the Deputy Financial Controller (Operations) of East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust in delivering financial and operational objectives. The post focuses on operational and transactional financial accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and working capital management. The Financial Accountant will manage the Transaction Team in all matters relating to accounts payable and receivable and will lead the agreement of balances exercise for the Trust. The role involves working closely with NHS Shared Business Services which uses the Oracle platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the systems and procedure controls designed to ensure integrity and accuracy within the financial services function. The post holder will ensure the smooth functioning of the collection and payment of cash, and, where there is a systems issue, you will take the lead and propose changes to avoid a repeat. The role includes overseeing the processes for debt collection of the Trust’s income, including working with Commissioners and key stakeholders to ensure that any disputed invoices are resolved quickly. You will also work with external and internal audit to ensure efficient and effective delivery of their work programmes while maintaining appropriate internal systems and procedures.
