Salary: £39,284 - £43,239 (Band 5.1 - 6.1)

Are you a qualified accountant looking for an opportunity to broaden your expertise and work within a unique environment?

Our client has an excellent opportunity for a Finance Manager to join them on a 12-month contract and support the work of the Director of Finance and Corporate Services. This person supports the work and ministry in Greater Manchester in its ambitious programme of transformation.

Working closely with the Director of Finance and alongside a small finance team, you will bring your skills and experience to support preparation of management accounts, annual budgets and year end accounts in accordance with Charities SORP regulations.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCCA, CIPFA or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate experience of the charity/ not for profit sector. They will be highly IT literate (with advanced Excel skills) and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. As the role requires the ability to convey financial information to non-financial staff and volunteers in a supportive way, the post holder must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.

Although experience of working within the Church of England is not required, the post holder should be sympathetic to the aims and values of the Church.

The role is based in Bury with an opportunity for some hybrid working following induction period. The postholder will receive a handover from the current Finance Manager.
