REED is working in partnership with a local authority maintained primary school in Milton Keynes to recruit a Finance Manager for a permanent position starting in January 2025.

�? About the School

This is a small, standalone primary school – not part of a Multi Academy Trust – which means the role is hands-on and central to the school’s day-to-day operations. You’ll be joining a supportive leadership team in a front-facing role that contributes directly to the school community.

?? The Role

  • Title: Finance Manager
  • Salary: £30,000–£35,000 (pro rata)
  • Hours: 32 hours per week, 42 weeks per year
  • Start Date: January 2025
  • Interview Date: Thursday 17th October 2025
  • Location: Milton Keynes

This opportunity is ideal for someone with school finance experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll manage the school’s finances, support HR functions, and ensure compliance with statutory returns and reporting.

Key Requirements

  • Essential: Previous experience in school finance (non-negotiable)
  • Strong working knowledge of SIMS, UFS, and statutory reporting
  • Comfortable working independently – there is no large back-office team
  • Will handle some HR responsibilities
  • Proactive in keeping up with national changes in school finance
