Overview

Role: Finance Assistant (Temporary)

Location: Hove

Hours: Part-time, approx. 16 hours per week - 9:00am to 1:00pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (with flexibility)

Pay: £12.21 - £13.50 per hour

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join one of our clients on a temporary basis in Hove. This is a part-time position running from September 2025 - January 2026, with the potential to extend.

Requirements
  • Availability from September 2025
  • Recent experience using spreadsheets for record-keeping
  • Proficiency and confidence in IT use
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage tasks independently
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Understanding of bookkeeping principles (desirable)
  • Experience using Xero accounting software (desirable)
Role
  • Manage financial transactions on behalf of clients using online banking
  • Correctly allocate income to client sub-accounts
  • Communicate with colleagues to ensure accounts remain within authorised limits
  • Make weekly cash allowances and grant payments as required
  • Maintain accurate records using accounting software
  • Reconcile accounts, cash, and credit card transactions
  • Work with internal teams to ensure up-to-date client financial records
  • Support volunteers with financial tasks where required
