Finance Assistant (12-month FTC) - Belfast

£23,809 + per annum | Full-time | Fixed-Term Contract | Excellent Benefits

Reed Accountancy are delighted to be partnered with a fantastic organisation in Belfast in the appointment of a Finance Assistant to join their team on a fixed-term basis.

The successful Finance Assistant will play a key role in maintaining precise and current records of the organisation's income. Your work will be vital in ensuring all revenue sources are accurately tracked and reconciled in accordance with internal financial procedures and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee daily cash book activities and manage incoming payments.
  • Administer petty cash, including handling reimbursements and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare and deposit funds into designated bank accounts.
  • Create and input journal entries into our financial systems.
  • Participate in financial audits and conduct petty cash reviews at various locations.
  • Process direct debit and card transactions, ensuring correct allocation within our finance platform.
  • Generate reports and carry out financial analysis as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with site managers, staff, banking institutions, and other external stakeholders.
  • Assist in reviewing, updating, and implementing financial policies and procedures.

What you need to succeed:

  • 5 GCSE's /O levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent) to include English & Mathematics
  • 1 years' experience working in a finance office
  • Experience of Microsoft Suite including Word, Access and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and within tight deadlines
