As our Finance and Data Lead, you will be at the core of a service that manages over 230,000 tonnes of waste a year, with an annual net revenue budget of £45m. These high-value contracts shape how waste is collected, treated, and reduced across Wiltshire. • Spot trends, understand the impact of changes in waste tonnage, and help the service stay ahead of legislative shifts and maximise new income opportunities.
  • Work closely with senior leaders, providing advice that shapes strategy and policy.
  • Analyse tonnage data, validate invoices, and prepare reports for Cabinet; your work will have a real impact on the council, Wiltshire residents, and the environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the council and external partners; relationship-building is key.
  • Some evening and weekend work is part of the role, and PPE is required when visiting operational sites.
  • Contribute to a service that matters to every resident in Wiltshire and supports climate and environmental goals.

  • Strong financial experience with excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience supporting and getting the most out of a team, with a clear, confident communication style.
