Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a junior finance analyst to join an entertainment company with musical theatre at its heart.

You\'ll work within our FP&A team, gaining hands-on experience of financial and non-financial data reporting, business intelligence and decision support in a collaborative and innovative environment.

This role is ideal for someone who is part-qualified (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA), actively studying, or interested in pursuing a professional accounting qualification. You\'ll work closely with our FP&A Team, gaining hands-on experience working with financial data, reporting, and decision support in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed income analysis and commentary for all current and upcoming theatrical licences and other projects.
  • Assist with monthly variance analysis to compare actual financial performance against budget to support financial insight and accountability
  • Support the FP&A analyst in the annual budgeting process as required, including if necessary by gathering and processing data assumptions, preparing templates, coordinating input from departments, and assisting in the consolidation, analysis and review of budget submissions
  • Prepare financial models and analysis for other areas of the business when required, including Music Publishing, Records, Stock & Amateur (SAM), Film, Consumer Products & Merchandise and other brand licensing
  • Support royalty accountants in the credit control process by helping to verify and track incoming royalty income
  • Work with our business analyst as required, assisting them with their weekly financial dashboards and databases
  • Providing ad-hoc support on other FP&A responsibilities as required by the FP&A team
Essential knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Higher education (e. g. degree or professional studies) in a related field (e.g. economics, accountancy, finance, mathematics, computer science)
  • Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Business Central, PowerQuery and/or Tableau would be beneficial but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen problem solver
  • Ability to tell a story from numbers, and to interpret numbers from a story
  • Knowledge of theatrical licensing or the entertainment industry is a plus but not required
  • Team player with a practical, positive and proactive attitude
  • Self starter with an ambition to learn
  • An interest in the performing arts / music is desirable (but not required)
