Description

General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full‑time Improvement Project Engineer to join our Facilities Team, based in Merthyr, South Wales. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £39,200 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally. Joining an established team, the successful candidate will provide effective engineering resource to develop and improve infrastructure, amalgamating new technologies to increase the department’s effectiveness. To design, implement and commission all variations of improvement projects, enabling the department to respond dynamically within a modern, demanding and fast‑moving environment.

If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:
  • Lead all variations of FM improvement projects to an agreed cost, quality and timescales, across buildings, systems, internal procedures, plant and equipment.
  • Facilitate improvement workshops and drive initiatives across all FM services, Examples of these including waste and energy management, security services, business continuity, Emergency planning and property insurance.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory legislation, business policies, regulations & standards including CDM regulations.
To apply for this role, you will require the following:
  • The applicant must have completed an apprenticeship, including a minimum of relevant ONC and HNC academic qualifications.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • To have a degree qualification.
  • Technicians experience post apprenticeship.
  • To have successfully completed a nationally recognised project management training course
  • To have experience using Microsoft project or equivalent.
  • To have experience in the development of Engineering and Facilities policies, procedures and have an understanding of Facilities framework requirements and associated strategies.
