Job description

Slingshot AI

Slingshot AI is the team behind Ash, the first AI designed for mental health. Our mission is to make support more accessible and help people change their lives in the ways they want.

We're building a world-class team by empowering individuals with the autonomy, flexibility, and support they need to do their best work. We dream big, iterate fast, and care deeply. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Our team spans machine learning, product engineering, conversational design, clinical growth, and operations with offices in both New York City and London.

We're a well-funded Series A company, having raised $93M from Andreessen Horowitz, Radical Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, plus top-tier tech investors involved in ElevenLabs, Captions, Shopify, Plaid, Notion, Canva, Twitch, Airtable, and many others.

The role

We're seeking an Executive Assistant to support our Founder and CEO Daniel Reid Cahn. Daniel is a young, energetic, passionate visionary founder who still writes code in his spare time (yes, CEOs can have hobbies). Your role will involve supporting the Founder to manage his time based closely on his priorities. You'll manage his email and communications, join the Founder in critical meetings, support note taking and organize travel.

This is an unparalleled opportunity to be in the room where it happens (as it happens) and to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and deeply mission‑driven company. You'll act as the founder’s second brain and spend a lot of time together regularly collaborating with our other Co‑founders EA across the pond. You'll be responsible for ensuring things get done and keeping an eye out for anything that could fall through the cracks.

About you
  • Self‑confident: You can communicate professionally and confidently with industry leaders.
  • Highly communicative: You believe that many issues and challenges do not even arise if you communicate well. You can’t remember ever being accused of talking too little.
  • Prefer systems over heroics: You don’t really understand those people who try to juggle 47 things in the air while riding a unicycle—why would you, when you can build systems that remember everything for you? You’re meticulous, organized, and obsessed with follow‑through.
  • You can write! You might not be the next Hemingway, but you enjoy writing well.
  • Thrives in high‑stakes, high‑speed environments.
  • Tech is fun: You learn new tools fast, love finding the latest tech and make it easy for others to use. You see AI and automation as multipliers that speed up work and sharpen results.
  • You love dogs. (Or at least tolerate them with enthusiasm. There may be office dogs.)
Key responsibilities
  • Communication management: Draft, edit and oversee correspondence on behalf of the Founder, ensuring clear, professional, and timely communication.
  • Calendar and scheduling management: Own and optimise Daniel’s timescheduling, internal and external meetings, prioritising ruthlessly and ensuring he’s always in the right place at the right time.
  • Chief reminder officer: Gently (but firmly) ensuring that Daniel remembers that yes he does need to eat lunch and no 3 pm meetings can’t start at 3:45 pm.
  • Have confidence and sound judgement in pushing back when things distract from the founder’s top priorities.
  • Travel and logistics: Plan and coordinate complex travel itineraries, accommodations and meeting agendas.
  • Office and culture: Support the running of our London office, helping shape and maintain an inspiring workplace culture.
  • Strategic leverage: Spot opportunities to increase efficiency, anticipate bottlenecks and proactively create systems that help the company scale.
This is the right opportunity for you if
  • You have experience working in a fast‑paced environment and you’re excited to shape the future of mental health through AI.
  • You thrive in collaborative environments and you’re excited to learn and grow into the role.
  • You want to work closely with a fast‑paced, brilliant founder; you understand that this is a high‑leverage, high‑impact position and see this as the job, not a stepping stone.
  • Reading this you’re excited to write a customised response to this job post.

Congratulations you have made it to the end of this job posting! That might already qualify you for this job. We can’t wait!

What we offer
  • A chance to join a passionate, tight‑knit team working on something to change the world.
  • Competitive compensation (we target the 90th percentile).
  • Travel between our NYC / London offices.
  • Usual startup perks like free lunch in our offices, generous learning budget.
  • Generous budget to cover your personal therapy.
