Job description

Role: Evening Receptionist

Location: Tresham College - Wellingborough Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £23,557 and £26,754 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, People's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 8 hours per week - 36 weeks per year - 17.00 to 21.00 on Mondays and Wednesdays

Contract Type: Permanent - Part Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking an Evening Receptionist to join our Customer Contact & Admissions department at The Bedford College Group.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service - Provide a warm, professional welcome to visitors, customers, and students, ensuring all interactions reflect the College's service standards.
  • Manage Reception Operations - Oversee the front desk, maintain a tidy and safe environment, handle calls, emails, and visitor bookings efficiently.
  • Support Administrative Processes - Action inbox requests, process parking permits, manage lost property, and assist with course welcome packs and stock checks.
  • Ensure Compliance & Safety - Follow safeguarding, GDPR, health & safety, and equality policies in all activities and interactions.
  • Contribute to College Events & Team Goals - Participate in open days, enrolment, and other recruitment events, supporting the wider Advice & Admissions team.
About you:
  • Essential Qualifications - GCSE English & Maths (A*-C/9-4 or equivalent) and willingness to update skills and knowledge continuously.
  • Customer Service Experience - Previous experience in a customer-facing role, handling challenging situations positively, and using email and internet effectively.
  • Core Skills & Attributes - Friendly and welcoming approach, strong communication (face-to-face, phone, written), ability to prioritise in a busy environment, and maintain accurate records.
