Roofing Estimator - Essex. £55,000 - £75,000 DOE. Essex-based (projects across the South East). We're looking for a skilled Roofing Estimator to join our growing team and take ownership of delivering accurate, competitive project costings. If you have sharp analytical skills, strong commercial awareness, and in-depth knowledge of roofing systems, we'd like to hear from you. Responsibilities

• Project Analysis - Review drawings, specs, and contract docs to fully scope requirements.
• Quantity Take-offs - Calculate accurate material, labour, and equipment needs.
• Site Assessments - Visit sites, measure roof structures, and capture project data.
• Costing & Breakdown - Prepare detailed estimates covering all project elements.
• Supplier & Subcontractor Liaison - Source, negotiate, and obtain competitive quotations.
• Bid & Proposal Preparation - Produce tenders and written submissions using templates.
• Client & Stakeholder Communication - Collaborate with clients, PMs, and suppliers.
• Cost Tracking - Monitor and report on costs throughout project delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Roofing or Construction Estimator.
• Strong understanding of roofing systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, Bluebeam; exposure to Swifest (or similar) an advantage.
• Ability to produce Schedules of Work, BoQs, and marked-up drawings.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communicator with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable conducting site visits and producing accurate assessments.
