Overview

Estimator - Civil Engineering | Leeds | Up to £70,000 + car + benefits.

A well-established civil engineering and remediation contractor is looking to strengthen its estimating team with a proven estimating professional. Whether you're stepping up into a senior role or already operating at that level, this is a chance to work on technically diverse projects.

Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed cost estimates based on site assessments, technical drawings, and project specifications.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and ensure quality standards.
  • Attend site visits to identify risks and opportunities, feeding into bid strategy.
  • Support bid submissions with clear, compliant documentation and pricing breakdowns.
  • Review estimates and ensure accuracy prior to submission.
  • Participate in handover meetings to ensure smooth transition from pre-construction to delivery.
  • Maintain awareness of environmental regulations and ensure compliance across all estimates.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
About you
  • Strong estimating experience within land remediation or environmental construction.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and build cost plans from first principles.
  • Familiarity with NEC and JCT contracts, plus experience using tendering portals.
  • Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
