Estimator - Civil Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Estimator for a successful Civil Engineering Contractor with offices in Redditch and Leeds. Our client is a well-established company delivering projects from conception through on-site execution across various sectors, including water and wastewater, infrastructure, coastal protection, highways, bridges, and Railway Civils works.

The Estimator's role involves producing competitive, well-resourced, and analyzed tenders (cost and quality) in a timely manner, supported by the wider team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years estimating experience within the Water, Civil Engineering, or Rail industry.

Estimator Position Overview
  • Work on competitive bids, negotiated contracts, and Frameworks.
  • Provide competitive and analyzed tender costs and quality submissions to clients.
  • Report directly to the Estimating Manager, aligning with company targets.
  • Strive to achieve profitable and successful bids.
  • Assist with budgeting and pricing.
  • Study tender documentation and assess viability.
  • Calculate net costs of tenders from first principles.

Salary / Remuneration: Based on experience, includes access to a pension scheme and 28 days of annual leave.

Position Requirements
  • HNC in Civil Engineering or similar discipline (beneficial).
  • Minimum of 2 years estimating experience in a Civil Engineering company.
  • Knowledge of NEC conditions of contracts.
  • Previous site experience (beneficial).
  • Ability to work well within a team and be self-motivated.
  • Financial and pre-contract management experience.
  • Full driving license.
  • CSCS Card (beneficial).
