Job summary

A leading law firm in the UK is seeking an experienced employment lawyer to join their HR Rely Team. This position involves managing a mixed caseload of employment work, providing HR law advice, and conducting advocacy at Employment Tribunals. The ideal candidate is a qualified solicitor with strong teamwork and communication skills, and has a keen interest in real estate work. This role is based primarily in Glasgow or Birmingham.

Qualifications

Overview

Our market leading Employment, Pensions and Immigration practice area is seeking an experienced employment lawyer to join our HR Rely Team. We advise clients across the UK and internationally, including some of the UK's largest and best known employers. We believe that the quality of our clients and the strength of our relationships with our clients speaks volumes about the quality of the service we provide. Our HR Rely team is highly ranked in the Legal Directories and has ambitions to grow further. This role is ideally positioned within our Glasgow or Birmingham offices, but we will consider applications for other allocations, excluding London. As an Employment Solicitor sitting within the HR Rely Team you will manage a mixed caseload of employment work including advocacy, and provide HR employment law advice to clients.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Manage a mixed caseload of employment work
  • Provide HR employment law advice to a wide range of clients
  • Conduct advocacy at Employment Tribunals
  • Assist other members of the team with their caseloads as appropriate
  • Draft and prepare letters, e-mails, documents, tribunal responses, bundles, witness statements and reports
  • Draft articles and legal updates
  • Assist with business development initiatives including training and networking
  • Produce monthly and ad-hoc client MI reports
  • Work in accordance with client and internal SLAs
  • Work in accordance with Weightmans' values and procedures
  • Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
  • NQ-3 YR Qualified Solicitor
  • Experience of and familiarity with development and regeneration work is an advantage
