A local authority in Greater London is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join its Private Rented Sector Housing Regulation and Fire Safety Team. The successful candidate will address poor housing conditions, inspect properties, enforce licensing requirements, and maintain case records. We have an exciting permanent opportunity for an Environmental Health Officer to join our Private Rented Sector Housing Regulation and Fire Safety Team. This role is ideal for someone who is practical, motivated, and confident in taking responsibility for their work, with a genuine commitment to improving housing conditions and residents’ lives.
You will need a good working knowledge of private sector housing enforcement, including housing defects, repair standards, and relevant legislation. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience in private sector housing or a similar regulatory or enforcement role.
You will be supported on a day-to-day basis by Senior Officers and the Team Manager. There will be opportunities to build your skills and experience through internal and external training, including access to CPD and payment of a relevant professional subscription.
The successful candidate will be appointed at Grade PO2. We also offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working, to support a healthy work‑life balance.
