Job summary

A growing consultancy is seeking an experienced Advisory Architect to develop go-to-market capabilities and provide technical advisory. The role involves crafting holistic service designs and managing full project lifecycles, with a strong emphasis on cloud architecture and infrastructure engineering. Ideal candidates will have a strong proven background in diverse architecture teams across public and private sectors, experience in multi-vendor environments, and cloud cost optimisation expertise. Strong documentation management skills are a must for this role.

The successful candidate will be taking a leading role in developing my clients go-to-market capabilities as an experienced technical advisor to our existing and future clients.

As an Advisory Architect, we are looking for those who are able to work with existing and future clients to understand their challenges; explore and propose effective technical solutions and develop long‑term trusted relationships.

Job responsibilities

• Experience of producing holistic service designs, which not only cover technology aspects, but which also address service support, management and maintenance needs.
• Good knowledge of a broad range of technology solutions, within complex enterprises.
• Experience across full project lifecycle, from initiation to decommissioning.
• Ability to model current and target states, define migration methods and decompose these into low‑level tasks, for assignment to engineering teams.
• Understanding of business analysis methods and user‑centric design
• Liaison with business governance functions e.g. Senior Management, Security, Enterprise Architecture, Service Acceptance etc.
• Strong and demonstrable experience as a Cloud Architect with experience on Cloud migration
• Extensive prior experience in infrastructure engineering, with proven delivery success
• Experience working in a multi‑vendor environment
• Extensive experience across traditional and cloud architecture, including Network services across vendors, IDAM, Security and Monitoring and device management in an Agile manner.
• Strong experience with working within and across development and delivery teams to establish platforms for applications
• Strong experience of documentation creation and management.
• Strong experience in cloud cost optimisation
• Office and Windows licensing

• Experience across business areas, within both Private & Public sector
• Strong and demonstrable experience as an Enterprise Architect
• Strong experience working in a multi‑vendor environmentStrong experience in leading diverse architecture teams and responsibilities.
• Extensive experience with solution architecture in Software, Interface, Infrastructure and Network Design
• Strong experience of documentation creation and management.
• AWS/ Azure Architecture (Network, IaaS, PaaS)
• Azure Devops. Puppet, ARM, Terraform, Gitlab\hub and CloudFormation
• Infrastructure services – e.g. IAM, DNS, Azure AD.
• Network Services – VPN, MPLS, SD WAN, Firewalls, WAF
• COTS Platforms (e.g. Sharepoint, SQL)
• Windows and associated services
• Linux and associated services
• Office 365
• Intune or other MDM solutions
• Proven capability within:
• An architecture modelling framework (e.g. Archimate)
• An architecture framework (e.g. TOGAF or MODAF)
• Design Modelling Frameworks (e.g. UML)
• Any AWS, Microsoft, Security or Cisco qualifications would be beneficial.
