Overview

This school is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable English Teacher to join their vibrant English Department. We are looking for someone who is passionate about literature, language, and helping students develop their communication skills, critical thinking and creativity. Beginning ASAP.

Responsibilities
  • Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and challenging lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing targeted feedback to support achievement
  • Create a positive classroom environment where all students feel supported and motivated
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic standards
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum resources and schemes of learning
  • Engage in school life through clubs, trips, enrichment and whole-school initiatives
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support cross-curricular literacy
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues to support progress and wellbeing
Qualifications
  • Hold QTS and a degree in English or a related subject
  • Be a strong classroom practitioner with a passion for English and a commitment to high standards
  • Have excellent subject knowledge and a clear understanding of assessment and pedagogy
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills as an English Teacher
  • Be reflective, resilient, and keen to contribute to departmental and whole-school improvement
