Job Summary

To develop effective engineering project plans, track progress, resolve problems, develop solutions, and forecast project and product cost performance. Coordinate with other functional units, identify and address project issues, gather and analyse data to support the development of solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meeting schedule commitments, and optimising performance.

Scope of Responsibilities

You act within a small team of peers and do not have direct responsibility for any staff. You manage across a functional matrix within the Technical Domain of the business. Your focus is on planning and executing Engineering projects to meet or exceed performance metrics. You are the Technical focal point for your project, across the business, and with Customer and Airframer facing roles. The role is based in Cwmbran, Wales, with occasional travel including international locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the IPT in identifying project risks, mitigation actions, and contingency plans.
  • Support the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Track progress of project tasks across multi-functional engineering teams.
  • Resolve schedule conflicts and develop technical solutions with inputs from technical teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide clear project status reports internally and to the customer.
  • Track performance against budget for NRC and RC.
  • Manage large work packages across business units or with partners.
  • Liaise with the customer to present technical solutions and their impact on schedules.
  • Maintain customer product specifications and coherent Work Breakdown Structures.
  • Manage technical requirements through a Systems Engineering approach and track technical changes.
  • Participate in design reviews during each phase of the NPI process.
  • Deliver engineering requirements supporting business gated processes (MER, PROMPT, PLS).
Job Requirements

Knowledge, Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or Engineering Degree in Aerospace or related discipline.
  • Typically >5 years in engineering or technical project management.
  • Experience managing multi-functional teams, including remotely.
  • Understanding of certification frameworks, preferably with Aircraft Interiors knowledge.
  • Experience in business case or bid preparation, technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of financial management in new product development.
  • Systems Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems Design expertise.
