Engineering Manager - Greenford, London

Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Ensure optimal equipment performance, oversee maintenance and facilities management, and drive efficiency through Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives. Manage capital projects and foster a culture of operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee planned maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.
• Manage capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset reliability.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Control costs within maintenance and facilities budgets.
• Oversee site utilities (water, gas, electricity) and work with external contractors for facility upgrades.
• Be an active member of the HACCP team.

Qualifications

• You have a degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar).
• You bring strong leadership skills with experience developing high-performing teams.
• You have a proven track record in FMCG or food manufacturing environments.
• You are well-versed in Lean Management principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• You excel in project management, handling multiple initiatives at once.
• You have in-depth knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance standards.
• You can think critically and problem-solve under pressure.

• You prefer working without structured maintenance programs or process improvement initiatives.
• You are uncomfortable leading a team or making strategic engineering decisions.
• You struggle with budget management and cost control.

• 40 hrs/week (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Mon-Fri, with occasional weekend work).
