Employment Advisor

We are seeking an Employment Advisor to join the Economic Development and Skills team within the Place Directorate. This role is key to supporting residents who have been out of work, helping them overcome barriers to employment and move into sustainable work.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of job seekers, providing tailored advice, guidance and action plans.
  • Support clients with job search, CVs, applications, interviews and confidence building.
  • Deliver employability workshops and one-to-one support.
  • Work in partnership with local agencies, employers and partners.
  • Maintain accurate records, monitor progress and meet set performance targets.
Qualifications
  • Experience in recruitment, employment advisory or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of employability support and barriers to work.
  • Confident in building relationships and motivating individuals.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and databases).
