Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experiencedBand 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurseto join the Emergency Department atFrimley Park Hospital.

In this pivotal role, you will act as a skilled practitioner and inspirational team leader, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care for all patients within the department.

Alongside providing expert clinical leadership, you will play a key part in theday-to-day management of the Emergency Department,supporting the efficient and effective use of staff, equipment, and other resources. This is a unique opportunity to shape patient care, lead by example, and make a real difference in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Emergency Department in achieving government targets and departmental objectives.
• Assist with budgeting and resource management, including appropriate use of supplies and agency staff.
• Participate in recruitment, selection, staff appraisals, and performance monitoring, supporting staff development.
• Manage sickness and absence in line with Trust policy.
• Attend meetings and communicate key information to staff.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to violence or aggression, following Trust policies.
• Respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
• Support complaint resolution and investigation processes.
• Adhere to statutory regulations, codes of practice, local policies, and health and safety requirements.
• Undertake any additional duties as requested to ensure smooth departmental operations.
