Job summary

A global asset management firm is seeking a candidate to support the Emerging Markets Fixed Income Portfolio Managers by conducting market research, performing macro analysis, and developing data models. Qualifications

Job description

Our client, a global asset management firm, is seeking to hire in the Emerging Markets Fixed Income team.

In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting the EM Fixed Income Portfolio Managers with research and the day-to-day management of portfolios.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct in-depth research on emerging markets, focusing on local currency and monitoring economic risk factors.
  2. Perform macro analysis to identify and analyse economic trends before they become mainstream, with a specific focus on inflection points in stressed and distressed market conditions.
  3. Produce research reports and present investment thesis to Portfolio Managers.
  4. Develop and maintain data models to support investment process.
  5. Analyse large datasets and present research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Build strong relationships with team members across multiple locations.
  7. Contribute to the overall Global EM Fixed Income strategy.

Experience & Qualifications:

  1. Relevant work experience in EM research or analysis, ideally on the buy-side.
  2. Strong understanding of EM sovereign risk across both hard and local currency.
  3. Strong quantitative skills and experience working with complex data sets.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade.
  5. Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
