Job Description

Join our team as an Electronics Team Lead and take ownership of the full product lifecycle for advanced electronics design in aerospace and defence systems. In this role, you will lead a team of skilled engineers, driving the development of cutting‑edge antenna solutions for aircraft applications. Your expertise in electronics design and leadership will be pivotal in delivering high‑performance, reliable systems that meet the rigorous demands of the defence sector.

Location: Reading

On‑site: 4 days per week

Seniority: Senior (8 years of experience)

Clearance: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and capable of obtaining BPSS clearance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the electronics design team through the full product lifecycle, from concept to production.
  • Oversee the design, development, and validation of antenna systems for aircraft applications.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace and defence standards, driving technical excellence and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including systems, mechanical, and RF engineers, to integrate electronics solutions.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
  • Support risk management, problem‑solving, and decision‑making for complex technical challenges.

  • 8 years of experience in electronics design, with a focus on full product lifecycle development.
  • Strong background in antenna design or RF systems, particularly for aerospace or defence applications.
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams in high‑integrity environments.
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence) and simulation software (e.g., HFSS, CST).
  • Knowledge of aerospace/defence standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Familiarity with system integration and validation processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes for defence electronics.
  • Exposure to project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
