Electrical Wiring Technician

Responsibilities
- Build and wire both prototype and production equipment, working from engineering drawings, circuit diagrams and sketches.
- Build wiring looms and assemble connectors.
- Route and fit complex wiring to enclosures and mechanical structures.
- Perform precision soldering and finishing of terminations.
- Check and test your own work to ensure everything is wired correctly before the next stage.
- Highlight any changes or improvements to designs or processes.
- Keep your workspace organised and safe.
- Work closely with production control and purchasing teams to manage material requirements.
- Occasionally visit customer sites to support projects (travel may be required).
- Support with tool calibration when needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an electrical wiring role.
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
- Basic mechanical assembly skills.
- Experience working in a start-up or pilot production environment.
- Knowledge of wiring standards within specialist or highly regulated industries.
- Experience terminating and splicing fibre optic assemblies.
- Computer literate.
- Detail-focused and methodical with a drive for quality.
- Positive, enthusiastic and willing to roll up your sleeves.
- Adaptable and resilient, happy to take on new challenges.
- A strong team player who communicates well and works collaboratively.
- Highly organised, conscientious and reliable.
- Security Clearance: Due to the nature of our work, successful candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. This requires proof of identity, employment history, right to work in the UK and at least five years of continuous residency in the UK.
