Overview

Job Title: Electrical & Mechanical Shift Engineers (x4). Location: Watford. Salary: £50,000 - £52,000 per annum (basic). Shifts: 4 on 4 off - Days & Nights (7am - 7pm / 7pm - 7am). Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time.

We are currently recruiting for:

  • 2 x Electrical Shift Engineers
  • 2 x Mechanical Shift Engineers
About the Role

We have an excellent opportunity for experienced and dedicated Shift Engineers (Electrical & Mechanical) to join a prestigious estate in Watford, housing high-end corporate and commercial office space.

Working as part of a 4-person shift team covering a 24/7 rota, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of M&E systems across the estate. This is a critical role supporting the day-to-day functionality of the site, ensuring a safe, compliant, and optimally maintained environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on building services equipment
  • Responding to and resolving reactive maintenance issues promptly
  • Supporting quoted and out-of-hours works where required
  • Assisting in building shutdowns and critical maintenance activities
  • Maintaining accurate site records, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Working collaboratively with other engineers and onsite facilities teams
Requirements
  • Time-served Electrical or Mechanical background (City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition (Electrical roles only)
  • Proven experience in commercial building maintenance or estates engineering
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements
  • Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours works and shutdowns
Shift Pattern & Leave
  • 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights
  • 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm / 7pm-7am)
  • 20 shifts annual leave
